The Icarus Chicago Support Center is operated by Para Concepts, with a close working relationship with the Icarus factory in Spain.
Our riggers have received training at the factory and we are able to restore Icarus canopies to their factory performance levels, using exact replacement components and maintaining original factory tolerances.
Patches:
When patches are required, we will disassemble the damaged portions of the canopy,
patch each damaged panel, and reassemble the canopy according to factory specifications.
A patch that does not involve a seam is $30.
Large patches add to that cost $10 or $20, depending on the size.
Seam reconstruction adds to that cost roughly $10 per seam.
We will quote complex repairs before doing the work.
Extensive Repairs:
When canopies are damaged over a large area, we can often reproduce the panels here at the Chicago Service Center.
However, if the damage is significant, there may not be enough left of the panel to accurately reproduce the original shape.
In these cases, we will have new panels cut at the factory in Spain and sent to the Chicago Service Center.
This insures that the replacement panel is the exact correct shape, and we reassemble the new panels according to factory standards and tolerances.
When we need to order panels from the factory, please allow 2 to 4 additional weeks for the panels to be made and sent to the Chicago facility.
It is unusual to require this process, but we will do whatever is required to insure that the canopy is repaired to its original construction standards.
